"Campo di papaveri" is a work characterized by a black sky, pierced at the bottom by a sliver of intense white light.
It depicts an immense poppy field, over which two swallows fly, seeking peace and tranquility, fleeing the impending storm.
The artist has once again masterfully depicted the deepest solitude and the darkest period of his life. At the same time, however, the swallows following the light symbolize the artist's desire to escape the vortex in which he was stuck, into which his depression was dragging him.
