Description:

"FERMATI E RESPIRA" is a work of strong emotional intensity. Once again, the artist uses magenta, a visceral color that expresses profound pain. The fulcrum of the painting is the tear that unites the artist's gaze with the woman sitting to his right, identified as the artist's sister. The tear seems to form a river that merges with the woman's silhouette. The artist states that he was pained by seeing his sister suffer and suffer: this generates a sort of shared pain, in whom the artist empathizes with his sister, absorbs her pain, and while she heals, he stains his soul with her own pain.

A work born from the need to give tangible form to the complex emotional states of depression and anxiety, this acrylic work explores the fine line between personal pain and fraternal empathy. The composition is dominated by a large, weeping eye and the figure of a woman sitting in contemplation: the artist and her sister, bound by a shared experience of panic attacks and dark times.

The tears flowing from the eye do not disperse, but are channeled to form a veritable river, an emotional umbilical cord that unites the sufferer and the viewer. The work captures a painful paradox: the profound suffering of witnessing the collapse of a loved one, a pain that sometimes even surpasses that of one's own discomfort.

Through a minimalist yet violent color scheme, where magenta represents the open wound and the flow of life, and white defines the contours of existence, the artist transforms crying from a manifestation of fragility to a vehicle for connection. The work thus becomes a monument to empathy, demonstrating how sharing pain can, paradoxically, become the first step toward not feeling alone in the darkness.
